On the same day that the great actor Tony Curtis died, Bears receiver Devin Aromashodu was unknowingly paraphrasing the greatest line from Curtis’s greatest film.
The film was Some Like It Hot, the line was, “Nobody’s perfect,” and it was such a perfect closing line that Curtis once said he wanted it on his tombstone. It’s a line that we can all use to justify our shortcomings, and it’s a line that Aromashodu adopted when asked why he was benched this week.
“I mean, you’re not going to be perfect every play, that’s something they have to understand,” Aromashodu said, per Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. “I mean, as coaches, they’re not going to make the right call every play, so we just have to learn from our mistakes and try to do our best.”
