Michael Vick Is Back

Michael Vick300910.jpgThree weeks into the 2010 NFL season and the biggest story of the season so far has to be the return of Michael Vick.

Vick returned to the NFL last year to sign for the Philadelphia Eagles after spending 21 months in prison.

He started this season as back up to Kevin Kolb. However in the first game of the season Kolb was taken out of the game and Vick replaced him.

The Eagles still lost the game to the Packers but Vick looked good.

With Kolb unable to play in week 2 against the Detroit Lions, Vick lead the Eagles to a 35-32 victory.

In week 3 Vick tore up the Jacksonville Jaguars, but instead of him running them into the ground Vick passed them to death.

Vick threw for 291 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Now I know that the Jags stink, but the old Vick would have won the game on the ground.

He stood in the pocket and kept his eyes down field.

If Vick starts becoming a pocket passer first and an athletic runner second then the NFL is in trouble.

Vick has always had a cannon of a left arm but whenever he got in trouble he would just run, now it seems, like the Eagles, Vick and Head Coach Andy Reid are looking for him to stand in the pocket and find his receivers.

Next up for the Eagles is the 1-2 Washington Redskins and the return of long time starting quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Much will be expected of Vick and the Eagles offence from now on but I hope that Vick can continue to hit the headlines on the back pages.

Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles is live on Sky Sports HD3 from 9pm.
